Munna Michael Trailer: Tiger Shroff | Nawazuddin Siddiqui

The first trailer for Tiger Shroff’s Munna Michael is out. Helmed by Sabir Khan, the film is a tribute to Michael Jackson’s hugely popular dance moves.

Touted as India’s first dance-action film, Munna Michael is Sabbir and Tiger’s third film together after Heropanti and Baaghi.

Tiger introduces himself as Munna, a huge fan of the late popstar and one who is hugely popular in the slums of Mumbai. Nawazuddin plays a “ruthless gangster from Delhi” who claims to be a “running national champion”.

Nawazuddin wants Tiger to train him in dance and he takes up the challenging task. Tiger flaunts his impressive dance moves and flexible bod with several sequences. With Nawaz’s brilliant acting chops, the trailer suggests Munna Michael may just be a fun adventure.

Munna Michael also stars Nidhhi Agerwal opposite Tiger and is set to hit the screens on July 21. Watch the trailer here.

Tiger Shroff Biography

Tiger Shroff (born Jai Hemant Shroff on 2 March 1990) is an Indian film actor and martial artist who works in Hindi films.[1] Son of actor Jackie Shroff and producer Ayesha Dutt, he made his film debut with a leading role in the 2014 action comedy Heropanti, which earned him a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut nomination.[2][3][4][5] He next starred in the action drama Baaghi (2016), which earned over ₹1 billion (US$16 million) worldwide, and received praise for the superhero thriller A Flying Jatt (2016).

Early life

Shroff was born as Jai Hemant Shroff on 2 March 1990 and officially changed his name to Tiger when he first debuted in movies.[6][7][8][9] Shroff was born to Indian film actor Jackie Shroff and Ayesha Shroff (née Dutt). He is the elder of two siblings, his sister Krishna Shroff is three years younger than him.[10][11][12] Shroff is a heritage of a mixed ethnic group. From his paternal side, he is of Gujarati and Uyghur ancestry[13][14] and from his maternal side, he is of Bengali and Belgian descent.[15][16][17][18] He did his schooling at American School of Bombay. Shroff helped Aamir Khan to build his physique for Dhoom 3.[19] He also holds a fifth degree black belt in Taekwondo.

Acting debut and success

In September 2009, Shroff was said to have declined the lead role in the remake of TV show Fauji.[20] In January 2010, it was reported that Subhash Ghai would be launching Shroff in the remake of his father's 1983 film Hero,[21] though Shroff eventually rejected the offer.[22] In May 2011, it was reported that Aamir Khan was also keen on signing Shroff,[23] however, the news was eventually termed as false.[24][25] In June 2012, Shroff was finally signed on by Sajid Nadiadwala to make his debut in Heropanti.[26][27] Shroff and actress Shraddha Kapoor, during promotions of their film Baaghi (2016). Heropanti released on 23 May 2014 and proved to be a box office success, despite mixed reviews from critics.[28][29] For his debut performance, Shroff garnered mainly mixed to positive reviews, with critics predominately praising his dancing skills and ability to perform stunts.[30][31] Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama appreciated his performance, saying "Tiger registers an impact in several sequences" and that he "scores brownie points in action and stunts". Adarsh also added that "for a first-timer, he exudes supreme confidence",[32] whereas Subhash K. Jha praised him for his versatility, saying "he emotes, he dances and yes, he can fight".[33] However, Sweta Kaushal of Hindustan Times disagreed, calling his "dialogues forced" and said "his expressions do nothing in a given situation". In spite of terming his performance "a little unconvincing", Kaushal called his action sequences "admirable" and said he's a "great dancer".[34] Furthermore, Anupama Chopra, though noting that he has star-like qualities and "very solid screen presence", called his dialogue delivery "off".[35] Shroff then appeared in Sabbir Khan's action drama Baaghi, which turned out to be a major box office success grossing over ₹1 billion worldwide.[36] His performance in Baaghi earned him critical acclaim. Bollywood Hungama praised his action saying, "The action Tiger performed without use of double body is delight to see."[37] His next release was Remo D'Souza's superhero film, A Flying Jatt, which didn't do as well as his previous movies at the box office. Shroff will next be seen in a lead role in film Munna Michael Full Movie.
